Accessibility

          We want everyone — including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen
          magnification, or other assistive technology — to be able to study for their contractor license
          with GC Prep. We run an ongoing accessibility program measured against WCAG 2.1 Level AA, and we fix
          barriers as we find them. If something is in your way, tell us and we will work with you.
        

Our commitment

GC Prep aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the same standard used as the Section 508 floor for information technology. Accessibility is a continuing effort, not a one-time checkbox: as we add features and content, we test and remediate against that bar.

Conformance status

GC Prep substantially conforms to WCAG 2.1 AA — it meets the standard across the large majority of content, with a small number of known items still being addressed (listed below).

Automated testing. Every release is scanned with the axe-core accessibility engine (WCAG 2.0 AA + 2.1 AA rule sets) across our main public pages.
Manual testing. We also test by hand — keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader passes, color-contrast checks, and real mobile devices.
Our newest study layout is designed screen-reader-first and is our reference conformant surface; a few older exam-simulator screens currently partially support the standard and are being brought fully in line.

What we’ve built in

A “skip to main content” link on every page for keyboard and screen-reader users.
Full keyboard operation of quizzes, menus, and tab controls — with visible focus indicators.
Semantic headings, landmarks (banner / main / contentinfo), and ARIA labels on interactive controls.
Color contrast checked against the AA thresholds; information is never conveyed by color alone.
Text alternatives on meaningful images and course figures.
Layouts that reflow and stay usable at high zoom and on small screens, including notch-safe spacing on modern phones.

Known limitations

We’re transparent about what isn’t fully there yet:

Some legacy exam-simulator screens partially support the standard while we finish migrating them to the newer layout.
Third-party components we embed — such as the Stripe checkout window — follow their own providers’ accessibility support, which we do not control.
Downloadable artifacts (e.g., certificate PDFs) are being reviewed for tagged-PDF accessibility.

These are actively tracked and prioritized; the list shrinks with each release.

For government procurement, a Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT® 2.5 INT) describing GC Prep’s conformance against WCAG 2.1 AA / Section 508 is in preparation and available to federal customers on request via the contact below.
